1. What this policy covers
This policy explains cookies, local storage, and similar technologies associated with the Redmont Counsel website. A cookie is a small record stored by a browser for a website. Local storage keeps a value on a device for a website without automatically attaching that value to every network request. Both can be used to remember preferences.
The policy describes the supplied website features and the role of hosting services. A cookie preference is not permission for every possible use of personal information. Direct communications and consulting records are covered separately by our Privacy Policy.
2. Essential functionality
Essential technologies support basic delivery, security, and privacy choices. The site's privacy manager records the categories a visitor has allowed or declined so that the same question does not need to appear on every visit.
Essential functionality is not turned off by Reject optional. It is used for the stated operational purpose, rather than as permission to add unrelated analytics or advertising. Hosting services may have their own essential technologies needed to serve pages or protect their infrastructure.
3. The saved privacy preference
The site's preference is stored under the local-storage key rc_privacy_v1. It records the preference version, essential status, analytics and marketing choices, a data-sale setting that remains false, and the time the choice was saved. It does not store the consultation form's name, email, business name, phone number, project details, or assistant messages.
A choice is valid for up to 180 days unless it is changed, the record is cleared, or the preference version changes. The site checks this period when the page opens. A local-storage value can remain on the device until removed; an expired value is no longer treated as a current permission.
4. Optional analytics
Optional analytics can help a website understand aggregate visits and interactions. These tools are permitted only if the visitor allows the analytics category. No optional analytics library is included by the current Redmont Counsel website sections.
If an analytics tool is later enabled, its configuration and collection notice must match the relevant permission. Allowing analytics when no tool is enabled records the choice; it does not create or install a tracker by itself. Declining this category does not prevent you from reading the site or preparing a request.
5. Optional marketing
Optional marketing technologies can include advertising measurement or tools used to understand campaign activity. The marketing category is off until allowed. The current website sections do not include an advertising tracker, cross-site audience tool, or targeted-advertising integration.
Permission for this category is not subscription to email marketing and does not authorize a sale of personal information. Any future tool must be disclosed and configured before use. Redmont Counsel does not use these website sections to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Making and changing a choice
The privacy banner offers Allow optional, Reject optional, and Choose settings. In settings you can allow analytics, marketing, both, or neither while keeping essential functionality active. Save choices stores the selected categories.
Use the Privacy choices button to reopen settings at any time. A new choice replaces the saved choice. Withdrawing permission should stop subsequent optional processing controlled by that category, although it cannot undo processing already completed before withdrawal or remove records a separate service legitimately retains.
7. Global Privacy Control
Where the device exposes an enabled Global Privacy Control signal, the site's privacy manager keeps optional marketing off and the data-sale setting false. Analytics remains subject to the visitor's separate choice. This signal does not prevent essential functionality from operating.
If a legally recognized signal requires a broader action for a particular service or jurisdiction, the applicable requirement controls. We do not present our preference interface as proof that every possible hosting or third-party configuration is compliant.
8. Forms and the assistant
The current consultation form validates required entries and shows a confirmation within the page. It does not send the entries or save them to persistent local storage. The guided assistant keeps the current conversation within the page and does not use an external AI provider.
These temporary values are different from the saved privacy preference. Closing or leaving the page ends the active page session. If you use a shared device, clear completed entries or close the page when finished. Do not place confidential or sensitive records into the assistant or request form.
If a service is chosen on a legal page, a temporary session-storage value named rc_service_handoff carries only the service identifier and selection time to the homepage. It is used to open the correct form, is removed when consumed, and is accepted for no more than five minutes. It contains no contact details, project text, or conversation.
9. Hosting and other technologies
A website's hosting environment may use essential cookies and process request information independently of the visible sections. The precise technologies depend on the configuration of that environment and any separately enabled integrations. The consent interface communicates a visitor's explicit choices to a compatible platform privacy API when one is available.
Separately installed scripts must respect the relevant permission. A visual banner alone does not disable every script already installed elsewhere. Before an optional tool is introduced, its purpose, provider, duration, and permission requirements should be assessed and the public notice updated where necessary.
10. Device controls and updates
Your device or browser settings may allow you to view or clear stored website data, block certain cookies, or remove local storage. Clearing the preference record causes the site to ask for a new choice. Blocking all storage can mean a preference cannot be remembered between visits.
We may update this policy when tools or storage practices change. The Last updated date identifies the current version. Questions about storage or privacy choices can be sent to Redmont Counsel using the contact details below.
